  • A/C compressor harness question

Got into figuring out why the ac wasnt working.. Found that the harness from the compressor to the harness on the fender was routed under the plug wires up against the motor. So needless to say it melted and at the spot there is a diode.

My question is whats the diode for, can I rebuild the harness with out the diode? Whats it there for anyway. Thanks in advance. Not worried bout fixing it fast just want to fix it..

Diodes are cheap. Buy, solder, done.

        basically any

Just make sure it is aligned correctly. All a diode does is act as a one way door for current.

Cool, only time ive used diodes was to make custom switch boxes for air ride set ups and I just used what others listed online lol. Think I have few left over.

          Thanks for the help.
