  • a/c / vaccume issue?

93 coupe ac blows ice cold out the vents but when you put the car under acceleration the air quits blowing out vents and starts blowing out the defrost and the car then runs sluggish. Turn the ac off, car runs fine. Wtf

Does it at least sound like a vaccume issue? Where should I start?

      Have you tried spell-check?

Seriously though, I'd look at the vac line that runs along the firewall near the top.

If you don't find a leak on the plastic line on the firewall (mentioned above), check around your vacuum tree on the drivers side of the firewall...you've got some hard lines on that side too...all of those hard plastic lines are known for becoming brittle over time.

My Ranger had the EXACT same problem - turned out to be the heater control valve, the vacum diaphram was leaking.

Ok I'll start hunting it down tommorrow. Sounds like it can be super easy or a pain in the ass.
