NE1 tried those cheap "performance chips"?

I see these cheapo performance chips on eBay. You splice them inline with sensors & they change the signal. One fools the AIT sensor, another is supposed to alter timing. I bet these are crap, but curious if anyone has tried these.....

Save your money. It's bullshit. I know of a few people who have caused electrical issues with their vehicles after doing it.

it's a resistor in a plastic box, the theory is that you will add the resistor which the computer will interpret as cooler/colder air thereby adding more fuel/timing. Not much to be gained there, had a buddy that installed one on 1 of his cars (it came with some other stuff he bought) on that particular vehicle it made it so rich it wouldn't even start. Like stated above, cheap/free hp doesn't go together usually.

It was a common trick with the LT1's to put a resistor on the IAT circuit to make it think it was cold outside. Never saw any concrete evidence of it's value though.
