  • tune for bolt on mach 1?

Was thinking of buying a tuner from american muscle, which comes with lifetime bama tunes... I will be going to true street dyno day to see what I put down as of now, probably 275ish.

Currently have SLP catback and x pipe, K&N drop in, and shaker air diverter for "power" mods. I want to drop the car, get deep dish AFS wheels for the rear, and then will get 4.10s after that is done. Might add a JLT RAI at some point if I can pick one up cheap, looks nice at least. Longtubes or power adder will never happen

Waste of money? I read some people don't notice a difference, yet others act like a tune made their car into a vette. Wonder if it might be better to get the gears first and worry about tuner in the future. Most of my commute is at 60 mph

I would estimate right at 300...Especially on a dynojet.

Gears would be the best mod....That, a cobra aluminum d/s and UDPs.
Custom dyno tune is the best if you HAVE to get a tune. C headed n/a machs/cobras have a lot more aggressive tune stock, and really don't pick up that much compared to a B headed cobra.

If you are not afraid if a little modding, sn95 cobra intake cams, a short runner, and some LTs will make a kiss under 400

^^^ It might take a bit more cam to get to those numbers but the combo above with degree'd cams will be good for about 350whp/wtq.

Gears and a tuner so you can correct the speedo or better yet save up and get the gears and tune done at the same time.

I've looked into the cams but don't really feel comfortable digging into the engine at this point. Same thing with longtubes, have no desire to attempt that. So for the amount of labor I'd have to pay to get those done, I might as well just put that towards a vortech or eaton kit.

There is a guy in SA that just put down 368/341 with comp cams, ported intake, maf, injectors, full exhaust.

I'm coming from a maxima so anything faster than a 15 second 1/4 feels like a rocket ship to me.

May just do that. I found a set of the wheels I want for sale so waiting to see if he's going to sell them to someone else first

Ok. FYI don't get off the shelf cams. They will more than likely lower your et.

Tune, gears, and udps. You will be happily suprised

I've gotten decent use out of mine. It's good to have if you're gonna change tire size, gears, etc. Also if you wind up throwing codes for the rear 02s you can clear and disable those as well.

The tune makes a noticeable difference, but it's not a huge change.
