i converted my mach1 to 5spd from auto its not to bad. But you will need clutch, flywheel, clutch cable, tranny, drive shaft from 5spd or just the input shaft changed, 5spd trans harness if you want your reverse lights to work other then that your auto harness will work but u will need to keep your netural saftety switch, clutch pedals, shifter knob boot and shifter, and then your car will throw tranny codes so you will need to get it tuned to turn them off or get a programer. Its expensive unless you find someone willing to swap you parts.

irs is good for road course or daily driver but for track its not as good.

yeah, im not looking for a drag car just a seat of the pants fast, fun driver. especially not in a vert. but for comparison my my suburban is not much slower at the track. My last car was a borderline drag car and too much headache on the street. I just want to have some fun and feel comfortable doing it.

OR just go with a better converter for the auto? any help on making this slug a little quicker would be appreciated. already has 4.10's, k&n cold air, 2 cats removed, and bullshit superchips tuner. took it out last night and it went 9.40 in the eighth.
Whats the price on a manual swap? mines and auto 90' foxbody.

Depends on how you source the parts. I would say $1200-$1500 in parts alone and it helps a lot if you can sell you auto in the process.
