  • Wheels with wobble bolts..

Have a friend that has an audi a4 2002.. He bought a set of after market wheels but the studs are wobble bolts (never heard of them before) but no shops want to do the work to install the wheels..

He said that the wheels are bolt pattern 114.3 his car is 112..

unsure how those work.....seen someone use them before....think its for mounting wheels that are close to the same bolt pattern but not exact.
Your local VW parts Master.....need a part?

Since the wheels are hub-centric on VW's/Audi's/bmw the hub is what is holding the wheel in the correct location. The bolts are only there to keep the rims pressed up against the hub.
However, if you are not using hub-centric wheels, you probably don't want to use these. 5x112 to 5x114 you can use wobble bolts. 8mm is almost the size of some bolt holes so someone must have been confused. Definitely have to be hubcentric.

PS: wobble bolts are TUV approved for saftey.

          .

Seems common enough... if you google "wobble bolts" the 2nd or 3rd autofill is the size mentioned in the OP.
