Cam phaser or cma phaser sensor. I I had the same thing happen with my 05 and it spent 3 days in my garage getting new phasers. I figured since the timing cover was off may as well rep[lace it all. So it got new chains, tensioners, guides, phaser's and phaser sensors. Runs great now. My cost doing it myself was around 1100.00 but that is way cheaper then the Stealer prices.

Get the wedge so you do not have to pull the front cover, saves some time.

probably low on fuel....that seems to be a common issue with 5.4's.

took it to the dealer. they said it needs a new engine. the guides, phasers, chains, solenoids and sensors are bad and the topend is full of sludge. they said thats it'll be about $2k to fix it but it might lock up later down the road because of the sludge problem.
Rearend is whining too so i guess its time for a new truck
