You don't need cats, my passes without them. But if you still think it wont pass, just unplug the timing spout before you pull up for inspection and it will pass. I'm a state inspector and have experimented ;-) lol

I will give it a try. But even my friends who are easy on passing cars wont do it cause of the fines. Im going to give it a try though,

In the meantime. If anyone has a stock H-Pipe close to me. I need one BAD!!!!!

Yeah, people always make statements like this. Yet, whenever I took my car to a shop like Kwik Kar or Valvoline....they would get in to drive it around the building for the brake test and get right back out hand me the keys and say sorry, we can't help you. And was nice enough to not waste both of our time to proceed thus obligating me to pay and then come back within the allotted time frame.

What you are referring to are "hook ups" in some form or fashion. That or you're finding a lazy and inexperienced inspector that can't hear the acoustic difference between catted vs o/r mid pipes, especially when you put the car on the dyno for a TSI test. The penalties being levied against shops for clean-scans and oversight on cats are quite substantial. Large enough financial penalties to where shops aren't taking the chance anymore. Not to mention the last time I was at a Valero inspection shop in Denton Co. there was a regional emission enforcement officer who showed up at random and observed the inspector doing the car in front of me.
