  • What size intercooler fits behind LX front bumper?

Looking for a eBay intercooler that'll fit behind the LX front bumper. Needs to be a single in/single out. Any brands to stay away from, etc.

    Thanks.

I'd imagine a 3" one would fit. Going on the LS?

Ya, I was just looking for overall dimensions, I am running a 27" wide radiator so I assume something like 27x7x4 or 25x12x4 or in that range would work best. The damn LX front bumper is not real great for airflow though (not much opening in it.

Ya, I've seen that one as well. Just want to be 100% sure it'll fit behind that bumper before I pull the trigger.

Im cruising around the builds forum over there to see what other guys are running. I know you want a 3" charge pipe so that limits you to a minimum 3" body. Is that your concern or overall height?

this is probably what you need I bought my piping from these guys... nothing against Vyron (VSRacing) but if I were to build another one I'd buy my intercooler and piping form these guys
same price as just the intercooler from Vyron

That's a no brainer. I just know a lot of the guys on the other board like to use VSRacing. Someone has a 3" black kit for the Supra that looks good. I think it was less than $200.

no, i went with the silver like the link.. I had the 2 90* pieces tig'd together and then had someone polish it out to a mirror finish the turbo to intercooler pipe is just a straight shot on mine and kind of down low so i didn't have it polished

Mine has the one that B&G offers in their kit. It's a 31 x 12 x 4 bar and plate. I had to do some significant trimming on mine, but some folks have had luck minimizing the chop job. I will say that most folks that have been able to get it behind the cover with NO mods, didn't have the a/c coil mounted up front and were able to push it back just a bit. I'll post up a pic of mine when I get home, but it's DEFINITELY not hiding! LOL! B&G has it for $225 on their site and it supports 1000hp.

my a/c condenser doesn't sit on the factory mustang bracket in front of the core, it is pretty much pressed into the actual radiator cutout in the core so actually this intercooler could sit on the stock condenser bracket.
