  • Quick trailer wiring question

Trying to wire up 4 way flat plug to the car (Prius - company car).

    Trailer already wired up.

My problem is the car has 5 wires that need to be plugged in, but I only have 4 to plug into on the wiring harness. 1 ground, 1 left turn, 1 right turn, 1 running/brake. Turn signals wired up fine. Ground is fine. I can't wire up the lights & brake wire together - just one or the other - for them to work correctly with the wires I have now.

Do I need a different plug from the car that has 5 wires into a 4 way plug?

    TIA

There is an adapter that you purchase that converts the vehicle that has separate brake/amber turn signals to the trailers combo brake/red turn signals.
