Find a mark 8 motor ~200 bucks. And throw 1000-1500 in internals in it.
If I were going to go that route, why wouldn't I just put 1500 in my motor? lol

dude just build your stock motor. keep your stock block and crank, have your rotating assembly balanced, get some good bearings and rings have it all professionally assembled and youre good to go. keep your stock compression.

now is NOT the time to go cheap. if you dont have the money now, you better wait till you do...like old saying goes..."not enough money to do it right the first time, but enough money to do it twice."

Because you can have more time and instead of having your car be down for the swap, you can just drop a built motor in.

You have a good block so use it. Built up everything else. Look at ModMax's web site they have everything you need at good prices.

Buy a buildable engine so you can work on it while you drive your car.

get all the machine work done to the block, then when you are ready to do the swap, pull your engine, get you crank polished and balanced, then bolt it all together!

Kieth Black makes some nice pistons that will hold 600 horse easy. They are not forged pieces, but that doesn't really mean anything. Hypereutectics are a different material and get a lot of bad press because people think it is shitty.

If you follow KB's instructions and set the ring gap correctly, they would probably last longer than forged pieces.

Used cobra rods, KB pistons, rings and pins should be around 500 total if you find a deal on a set of rods.

Where u at the track on slicks ? That's crazy I've seen those transmissions take a beating with more torque than that .... U got shit luck man

there's a lot of variables when youre talking about breaking stock parts.

ive seen guys with 490 rwhp 3V's with stock shortblocks run that much hp for 2-3 yrs no problems....no problems with the motor or stock tranny.

then ive seen a 440 rwhp 3V break the stock motor and scatter shit everywhere. or a guy with 450 rwhp break his stock tranny but his 500 rwhp buddy is still running his with no problems.

                    it just depends.

There is a guy with 600+ rw that still has a stock t-45 and it's had no issues.

yep. but Bob Cosby would go through them like candy in his N/A 99 Cobra that made ~350 rwhp. But then again, he was driving it right...

My plan is a twin disc clutch. This engaged the torque much more linearly than a single.

                          Thoughts?

Ever drove a car with a spec? There it's like an on off switch.

Ever drove a car with a centerforce? It's more gradual and smooth.

The specs use the pucks and those tend to be harder on the trans.

                            That's from my personal experience..

I broke it going into 3rd gear... Most likely yes I was on slicks. I never broke the T56 I had and I beat the hell out of that thing. I was pushing 750rwhp through it and a few full throttle runs from top of 3rd to 2nd missed 4th. lol It was the best manual trans I've had.

Not sure what your point is. I've driven a spec III single disc clutch in a KB cobra. Notchy and I could see how your foot would be dead after some traffic.

Every single person who I've talked to that has swapped a twin disc from a single says it's almost smoother than stock.
