88' Won't start after it rains

After heavy rains and if I leave the Mustang out it doesn't start, is something getting wet that would cause this?
Parked it in the driveway and now truck is blocked in.
Turns over and wants to start but just wears the battery out.

Any idea's?

spray WD40 on the plugs, wires, cap (inside and out)

this will repel the water and allow it to spark

haha.. I was going down the highway in my 65 chevy truck one time and it was like a flooded like crazy.. It started acting up and I got about half way up the exit ramp and it died. I called my dad he told me to walk up to the gas station and get some WD40.. i thought he was BSing me but I walked in the rain and back and sprayed everything down with WD40 and it started right up. (I was 16)

Well I started to, then saw the distributor cap is cracked, it had moisture as well as corrosion in it.

nice... you should try it anyways... try to start it.. if it wont start, spray with with the WD40 then try to start again.

I did and it almost turned over. Ran up and bought a new cap and started right up and help out in other area's too.
I appreciate the help, wouldn't even have looked or messed with the cap if you didn't suggest the wd40.
