The Magnum turbos seem to be nice. I tuned a stock 1500 5.3 truck a few weeks ago with the 76mm Magnum that made 480rwhp on 8lbs.

Ya, already talked to him. He sold those local but said he could get one drop shipped to me for a similar price.

You know what he payed for it. I just sent VSRacing a email asking what his best cash out the door price would be.

trust me, @ $330 shipped for a t4 76mm 1.0ar from on3 i am tempted as well. brooks seems to have a particular distaste for them though and the "import" company he bought his 76's from only come in .80ar which would be too small for my 6liter

Turbo Daves has the S400-75mm ETT 1.32 A/R T-6 for $649 shipped. But he is local and might make a better deal if picked up if he has it in stock (haven't dealt with him in a few years).

I think they rate there a/r different or something. That 1.32 isn't as bad as it sounds supposedly. Ask Brooks or Clifton, they have experience with that turbo I believe.

Ya, I emailed back and fourth with him today. Said he can't do anything cost wise on that turbo as the 649 is already a sale price. Lots of folks have recommended that turbo for the 6 liter and it's basically the same price as the MPT76. There will be additional cost obviously from the T6 stuff and 5inch exhaust, but from what I understand B/W makes a much better product then MP. I would be pissed though if the damn thing wouldn't spool until 5500rpm!

Pulling the 6.0 for a much smaller 5.3 or 4.8 is a terrible idea. The 6.0 will make 60-70 more rwhp and torque at the same boost level and be just as safe.
Never said the 5.3 would make more or be more durable. My point was the 5.3's are dirt cheap and he could sell that lq9 and pay for 5.3 and a lot of the turbo parts. That being said.. looking at the car it appears he doesn't mind spending money. Either way the car is gonna be fast as shit.

You are power limited with your motor. You can not magically make more power with a bigger better turbo on your stock motor. The s400 will be a lazy dog under 5500 rpm. It will make boost under 5500 but nothing like the mp76 or the Magnum 76.

point taken. after looking at a t76 map it looks like it really is ideal for this motor.

question now is if there is any way to aquire one for less then 640.

also, is the .96 what all the 6 liter guys are running vs. the 1.0ar exhaust housing?
