Found out that the twins that nbmta has are going to be too small for my 6 liter lq9 I picked up a set of C6 manifolds which I am not 100% sure are going to work but they look promising.
So I am left with basically two options to make some power and stay in my budget:
on3performance has a 76mm turbo with a 1.0a/r exhaust housing that would fit the bill on my build quite nicely for about $300. buy an ebay intercooler, wastegate, and blow off valve, i'd also have to find some 90+lb injectors. use the c6 manifolds and build the hot/cold side myself. would need to replace the rod bolts and get the converter restalled so basically everything would be coming out, and i'd swap in the stock cam since the tsp unit in there now would be a terrible turbo cam.
on the other hand i could do a set of l92 heads, victor jr efi, low-profile elbow, 90mm throttle body and make ~520hp at the flywheel. converter would still need to be restalled, but otherwise it'd just be a head/intake swap.
I think I'd be happier with the turbo. Cost wise the turbo would obviously be a more expensive and will require a LOT more work (with the l92 stuff i'd have a lot of parts to sell to offset the cost). At the end of the day my biggest concern is if the stock motor will live with the 10:1 compression and my requirement that it run on 93 pump gas.
What would you do? 450+rwhp on motor (with the option to spray it later), probably shave at least .2-.3 off my best of 7.0 making it a pretty decent all motor street car with a/c or build a budget turbo setup, make 600+rwhp and pray to the lord above that it lives and hopefully shave .5+ off my 7.0.
