FWIW - we went 5.40's@132 with an out of the box S400 on a 357.
We've made 1175RWHP with a (modified) ebay intercooler, and as of last week - been 140 through the 1/8. Soon to be MUCH quicker as well.
Master Power - MY own car had one on it, never a single problem, ran 6.20's, drove it every where. (MPT70).
Chinese turbo - I have two of them right now, FWIW, I took them COMPLETELY apart. THey are exact copies of Masterpower turbos. In fact, it's my own personal belief that the compressor covers are polished because they some how source MP covers, grind the letters, and polish the rest. They even have a 'billet' back plate. I have 600$ for both, shipped.
You can't go wrong with the intercoolers, BOV's, and wastegates - I just try to stick to Vband connections only - bolts are a PITA. Some of the clamps are cheesy, but otherwise, out of the 20-30 I've installed have had NO problems.
Chinese turbos, outside of the disassembly stated above - I dont' have anything to report yet. They look like solid pieces, measure just like a MPT76 - performance report to follow. Look for a thread in the next month or two.
I have a set of Impala manifolds that would be perfect for your set up
trying to envision this, but i dont think they'd work.
On the passenger side I am trying to snake down between the k-member/motor mount and the a/c compressor so the manifold will need to dump down around the 2nd primary from the front (or between the 2nd and 3rd like the c6 pointing forward).
Here you can see from the top where my window is:
Here it is a little lower:
And even lower:
Thats why I think this manifold on the passenger side would work best:
Notice how it points down between the middle ports towards the front allowing me to come down and around the a/c compressor.
The passenger side I have lots of room (other then the alternator down there, but I could easily move that if need be)
You can come get there, see how they will fit and if they wont work you can bring them back. Seeing how the impala is front wheel drive, having the third exhaust outlet, and how they are designed they would be perfect for most turbo builds.
Dville, you might want to keep up with Keith (kbscobravert) as he is nearly complete with his turbo Cobra and said he had lots of cold side tubing leftover. He's in afg, so it's not available for a couple months.

You can use a lot less turbo than you think. The ebay gt45 has proven to be a strong turbo with lots of people useing them with great success. Also the master power stuff for the price is fantastic as well as precisions "entry level" cea turbos. All priced well with good performance.
Ebay wg and bov and as said save money on controller and jus run of the springs.
Cxracing makes good cheap ic's

ya, we've spoken briefly about me snagging his left overs when he is done. i am just trying to get a hold of the turbo and components up front. i don't want to rip it apart until i have everything in hand so i can have the car down for a minimal amount of time.
