  • Need to find fuse for 2008 6.4 diesel.

My BIL was wiring up a H&S mini maxx on his 08 ford f350 and somehow grounded out the purple (ignition) wire down by the odbii port that H&S recommends to splice into. It blew the fuse but now he can't figure out what fuse blew. Nothing else seems to be affected but he wants to use that wire and replace the fuse.

Any ideas? It is a purple wire under the dash by the odbii port.

    Here is the instruction:

Use a test light to check the fuses.

I am willing to bet it did more damage than just the fuse, might want to take apart that bundle of wires the purple wire is surround by and see what melted together.

Seen it before so its worth a shot!

nothing is melted, the wire literally touched for a second before the fuse (wherever it may be) blew. just odd that h&s doesn't know what fuse the wire they recommend tapping into is.

have you considered that it may have blown the 2amp fuse on the OBD-II block itself?

I worked for h&s.....not every wire has a single dedicated fuse in that truck. There are multiple relays that run multiple modules.

And like cooter said...did you check the obd2 blocks fuse?

Kinda late to reply but just got back on the forum after the move back to Texas
