              4.6L SOHC or DOHC dimension: 36 x 36 x 44, 600lbs

              Miata dimensions: Wheelbase 89.2 Track: front/rear 55.5/56.2 Width 65.9 Height 48.2

              Not a lot of room.....

                          There is a cam'd LSx Miata that comes out to the Friday night meet. It's fast as it is N/A and on spray it's seriously fast . That car is no bitch. If you saw this car run you wouldn't even consider some weak N/A mod motor.

                            Looks like an easy job, wiring is probably the only hurdle, right? Get out your shoehorn and get on it.

                            The stock lincoln 4.6l exaust fit on the passenger side with no modification.  The drivers side had to be modified by sectioning the exhaust manifold down and welding it back together. The shifter ends up behind the radio. You have to build an extension for it but it works great.
                            If there's a will........


                            The point is, even if its possible, is the end result worth the effort? A BBF in an AC Ace worked out pretty well, but a 4.6 is no side oiler.
