you can pull the engine and trans in literally 20 min

not in a drive way. i have done it before from the bottom like that on a lift and it was cake. plus pulling it and putting it back in is a different story.

put a couple stands under the k, then use the engine lift to lift the body off the engine.

like i said not in a driveway (incline). plus i really don't feel comfortable lifting the body with an engine hoist. plus i did mine on my own. i still pulled it really quick from the top. all you have to do it remove the exhaust, d/s, x-member, fan, unhook electrical, and a/c it comes right out. putting it back is the hard part. plus it is a "process" squaring the k-member back up once you remove it. not to mention you have to remove the steering stuff to do it like that.

Props for doing it on your own.

I've done it both ways, and I'll never pull another engine from the top

well i mean by my self. it was tricky trying to get the hoist to stay still on the inclined driveway when i would let go of it to let the car roll back down the driveway. first time i have ever pulled a 4.6 from the top. at first i was thinking it couldn't be done with out removing the PITA headers.

On the show Gears on Speed they just finished up Project Banshee. It was a Miata swap with a body kit so it didn't look exactly like a chicks car.

Should be able to pull it up on line. I just watched it Sat am.

                            Good luck.

I told my wife when her Miata goes out I am going to do that swap!!
