  • What are the best DOHC heads? Cams?

Finally ready to go 4v and am trying to figure out which heads, in terms of those available, flow the best? Seeing lots of choices available and am not going to buy NIB, so am limiting myself to that available on the used shelves.

Opinions on which years or castings are the best? Searching yields a bunch of garbage that I don't necessarily trust. Anyone have a setup they'd be willing to part with?

What cams should I be searching for? I realize that they are not really needed but I really like the sound of cams at the stop light. Boost will be provided via a D1SC in my 00 GT.

End goal is 750 or there-about.

why not do a B head 4.6 stock heads and b cams... cheap and great for boost... spend the extra money on a intake from MMR or something like that...

Exactly what I'm trying to figure out.

I had read that the intakes were "ok". Is there anything to be gained going that route?

CHEAP... i have a set of b heads laying in garage... 50 bucks for heads with no cams in it, valves and springs are there... ... if you can get a intake done then they are a good route to go... they arent that popular because the intake choice but it has recently started to become a good choice as intakes are starting to show up... i wanna say MMR's intake is right around 1k for it...

Navigator heads, crower stage 3 blower cams/matching springs & retainers, f1a @18 psi using stock crank and 4" blower pulley laid 655 rwhp @7200 rpm in my gt through a tko500, was still making power when we shut it down. Mild tune for street use

valve job, degreed cams, Oh and FUCK mmr.

              109 Intake/114 Ex centerlines.

B heads with 1.25-1.50'' cut off the runners on the stock intake.

Guys with that setup, 10:1 compression and 20psi with a turbo will make 1000 through an auto...

just got to mod it a bit!

and jusy fyi for the op: keep your dremel set away from b heads. they already have too much runner volume

No vids, bought the car with that combo. It's changed up quite a bit now. Was 8:1 now going 9.25-9.5:1, stepped down to a D1 running stock 96-98 cams, 4r70w with a stall. Hopefully last time into motor for a long time.
