As for resale, ask any Terminator owner what happened to their cars' value when the new 5.0 came out. Steve? lmao.
Don't kid yourself, right now the new GT's are the hot thing, but the value will plummet on your car as well when the next hot thing comes out. Then you will be stuck with a very nice, overpriced, run of the mill GT.

Uh oh, look at Steve getting as defensive as he claims everyone else to be!

By the way, I completely agree, I am well aware that new cars depreciate. I didn't buy mine as a collector's item like a lot of Cobra owners did.

I'm not being defensive at all. Just explaining my viewpoint. Don't make it out more than it is.

The "terminator" group is...special. In general, it's a very elitiest group of people involved in that scene which surprises me because it's still just a Mustang. But some talk about the cars like they are rare old Ferrari's or something. lol. I will say, they are very, very fun cars to drive. My car is an absolute blast to drive, the power/torque, the screaming ported blower and unlimited potential. The 11/12's also fun cars, and a very nice step up in luxury and quality. Not quite as much fun to drive since they don't have the seat of the pants powerband the "terminators" do, but also have great potential if one doesn't mind putting more money into an already expensive car. But that's the hobby for you, it's a money sink, but we do it because it makes us happy, not to make money.

                  Yeah, special ed, lmao!
Remember I was "terminator" before "terminator" was cool, I had my KB and every bolt on known to the 4v world son. I was running high 11's at 122 on 10.5 MT's in 2001 when Colletti was getting his ass reamed by the Ford brass. Its a cool car and SN95's slammed with wide wheels are sic, but not special by any means. lol @ those clowns comparing a 03-04 Cobra to a hand built Ferrari.

My 09 GT was holding its value pretty good when I traded it in for the 5.0, they gave me 20.6k, I only paid 27k, drove that car for two years. And lol @ run of the mill 5.0 GT that makes 412hp (380RWHP)

Of course the car makes more power, cars are getting more advanced with time as should be expected. Don't take "run of the mill" as insult, I don't mean it as a degrading comment, but it is going to be a very common car they will make tens of thousands of them. In this day and age, 380rw isn't alot of power anymore but it's good power for a factory car.

Not taking it as an insult, you know that WE here at DFWMustangs have to argue about every single thing no matter how significant or insignificant it may be, lol!

Why limit yourself to some car that someone has turned out? I'd be looking at 08 GT500 cars long before an 03/04 Cobra.

Out of my two local dealers only one has had two 5.0's on the lot.

The other one has special ordered two of them, but does have a gt500 on the showroom floor. He has sold more gt500 than 5.0.

Locally, I know one person with a 5.0, but there are 2 guys with 11 model gt500's.

If I were spending over $30k on a 12gt I would have a hard time not buying a used gt500 at the same price.

I enjoyed driving my 03 cobra (which was lightly modded) more than my stock 07 gt500. I've collected some parts (gears, or x pipe, intake) and when I feel like spending money on the tuner/pulley I'll see which I like more.

I don't check gt500 prices but I'm coming up on two years of ownership and I bet I can sell it for within 1k of what I paid. Which, I might add, is less than the guy with a 11 5.0 I know paid.
