wife's 2010 has a large single muffer with dual exit, then has two resonators in the dual exhaust to quiet down the MDS which with the wrong muffler can sound like ass when it kicks in.

On my 08, I had a large single in/single out muffer and replaced it with a Dynomax 17449 or something like that. Sounds hearty, not too loud, quiet at cruise on the highway and can BARELY tell when MDS kicks in. I left the resonator in place after the muffler. The muffler is basically one of the oval cased, straight through designs with a 3" in/out offset and about 18" of 3" pipe. I have about $100 in my swap and it's the ONLY one I have heard that sounds good and doesn't get annoying with the MDS on. I might be wrong on the dynomax part number but if you are nice, I might go crawl under the truck and check.

If you use a flowmaster muffler, or remove the resonator, it will sound terrible and VERY loud when MDS kicks in. Youtube is your friend if you are trying to find a muffler to sound better....listen carefully because about 90% sound like ass.

If you have the Hemi do not mess with the exhaust. When the Hemis go from 8 cyl to 4 cyl, the truck will sound like shit with anything but stock exhaust.

I did a year and a half worth of research and found one that doesn't! It might not work well on the 2010 up trucks with factory duals but that can be fixed with a "y" after the muffler. I consider myself an exhaust sound elitist and actually love the sound of my truck. It's also NOT obnoxious at all and looks stock.

I read your post after I wrote my response. I have the 2007 and might look into the muffler you have. Any noticeable change in anything else like fuel mileage?

tough to say. I did that and took a trip to houston and back and noticed about 1.5mpg increase...but I was sort of trying to drive in a manner to get better mileage.

I put one of the ramair/cold air kits on it made the truck louder under WOT...but at cruise on the highway with very little throttle angle, it's nearly mouse quiet. It's a truly great setup considering I left the stock after muffler resonator in place. WHen I crawl under to get the part number on the muffler, I snap a pic with the iphone to show you the install. Stupid simple really and exhaust clamps on the newer trucks come apart with ease.
