  • how to reproduce tranny leak

I have the car with all four off the ground and about to clean the bottom of all existing fluid and put more fluid in it. Should I run it in drive to look for the source of the leak? Tia

    Lol at sig.

    Most leaks are from gravity.

If you really want to get technical, put the car on an incline, as the car moves forward the fluid will flow back and not be perfectly level.

    What kind of transmission?

On auto trans, there are 3 seals.

      Front seal (behind converter)
Out put seal, where the driveshaft goes
      And the pan gasket/seal.

If it's coming from the front it could be front seal, if Its all Over the DS area rear seal or if it looks like a seep it's the pan gasket.

Generally When looking for a leak the area with the most build up is the source, unless it's blowing out at high pressure.
