if the timing components took a hit, Id pay close attention to the valvetrain...that may be what locked it up

        thats how they come stock

if you are wanting a performance oriented lean, degreed cams, checking the lash is where it will make hp

If you line the dots up with the chain...nothing goes wrong. It is not rocket science...nor an art.

Do you think they were blueprinted at the factory? No! They were slapped together as fast as possible.

i was referring to slapping them together....thats what gets people in trouble. Its a hyd roller valvetrain, its ZERO lash unless you go to a solid lifter/adj follower, and a 2 person team assembled each one,not like it was an assembly line engine...

still looking for what locked this motor up? Need moar pics!

                      1. Looking in from the oil pan at the crank and rods.
                      2. down into the heads with the cam covers off.
                      3. Pull the timing chains and show us the oil pump
                      4. did it drop a valve?
                      5. anything to show it's locked up.

I've had the chain guides break in 3 pieces on my race motor. plastic held them together and the engine ran great, even with a blown head gasket! LOL!

These motors are tough to kill at near stock power levels....let alone lock one up while casually driving it. I've still got my money on no oil in it. Every 4V I have ever owned burned a quart of oil every 600 miles. If you don't stay on top of it...you get stuff like this.

Turn some wrenches, bust some knuckles already. I want to see some REAL carnage!

Sorry this sucks so bad though. Call Whiteboy. I bet he has a line on a motor or 10.

I'll get more pics tommorrow! I haven't took any of the timing stuff off. What order do I take it apart? Tensioner then the guides, then chains, then cam caps??

When it locked up the first thing I checked was the oil, it was half way between add and full.

I'll take lots of pics as I take the rest of it apart tommorrow!
