It has crossed my mind, lol. Maybe see what carmax will give me for it and just be done with it, I got a good deal on it so I might make some money. I thought about seling it to someone but I can't sell it and not tell them there is a problem.

My expedition began something similar and it got steadily worse - I would go out to start it and it would just turn over, and after you cycled the key a few times it would start. It turned out to be a failing fuel pump.

Another cheap thing to try is to replace the fuel pump relay.

I think thats going to be the issue but I hate to spend money on it and have that not be the issue. I might look into replacing the relay though since that can't be too much. Thanks for the info guys I will just drive it till it breaks and keep Kyle's # close by, lol.

My sons Lightning did this exact thing for months, finally after doing some research it turned out to be the Distrubutor. The strator switch goes bad, you can replace just that but the dizzy has to come out anyway and a good one is about the same amount as the dizzy itself. I bought mine at NAPA, We have not had an issue since, same thing that is happeneing to you.

Try pulling the codes. I had a similar issue on a car and it ended up being the coolant temp sensor. Threw the code but the check engine light never came on for some reason.

I'll give it a shot. I drove it to work today, I figure I will just drive it till it breaks for good then I can at least figure out what it is, doesn't do me any good letting it sit being scared to drive it.

this is where I would start. I've had this issue on several cars. New fuel pump no more problem. If you check the fuel pressure in the no start situation you will know immediately whether this is the problem.

It's been completely fine for a week now, when it doesn't start it's always somewhere away from any thing to test it.
