  • Tire peeps please comment....

My '69 GT350 has been driving weird on certain roads ever since I changed the front tires a few years back. It's like the toe-in is way out... and wanders all over the road, but only on certain pavements.

On the front are Pirelli P-zero 245-50-ZR17 "Asimmetrico" with asymmetrical tread design.

On the rear are good ole' BFG T/A KDWS 255-50-ZR17s

Even though the fronts are slightly narrower, I'm thinking about swapping ends and see if improves the driveability...

I'll have to change the tires on the wheels as the backs wheels are wider than the fronts, but it's time for a rebalance anyway.

    Your thoughts would be appreciated.

Some tires will track weird on different road surfaces. Especially aggressive tread patterns. I had some Kumo Extas that would dart all over the place going down one road leading to my old neighborhood.

On the Highway (coarse asphalt) we live on... it feels like the steering wheel is attached with a loose rubber band, damn thing is scary sometimes. Hop it up on the I-20 concrete (3 miles down the same highway) and it drives near perfect.

Have you adjusted the steering box as well as the power steering head?

Has NASCAR style steering rack with minimal play... front end checked and toe-in set at 1/8" in.... caster and camber both good, required no changes.

            similar to this: http://pitstopusa.com/i-5065128-appl...-rack-eye.html
