  • Rear Sway bar

My rear sway bar snapped in the straight section immediately before it bolts in in my 97 cobra. Would it make sense to find another one from a salvage yard or buy a brand new one?

Find a used one from any v8 mustang. Fox boddy to latter up to 04.

The factory ones are prone to breakage because they are hollow. I have a heavy duty solid one I am not using since I went to all MM stuff if you are interested.

I put an aftermarket on mine. More $$$ than a junkyard one. Only notice the difference when I reall push the car in the twisties.

If you like understeer go ahead and put a fox swaybar on. It'll fit but the wheel rate is completely different. Approximately 27 lb-in vs. your stock 39 lb-in according to Maximum Motorsports.

What year and make car did it come off of and how much are you looking for?

It means the ass will move more then the nose, and under hard corners your front end will slide out instead of grip. The weight transfer will be off.

The stiffness of the Fox sway bar is much less than that of your stock Cobra sway bar. If you use the fox bar on yours it is going to plow into turns rather than turning in sharply...

Understeer is safer (think Toyota Camry or big luxury car) but even your stock sway bar is designed to produce a little understeer. I'd hate to see how it handled with a fox sway bar.

                          You correct understeer with oversteer.

Makes for a fun ride! Lol
