You don't have to sell me on a auto. I wouldn't have it any other way in a drag oriented car. I have a gforce T5 that had around $3k in it counting clutch/flywheel that is in pieces. Didn't like 28" tires or a 393. I put a tk0600 in it, put if it gives me any trouble I'm going AOD.

Its a tough market right now for LS based cars. There are 2 LS coupes for sale on tech. One is going for $8000 & other for $7500, There is also a 3rd gen LS1 T/A going for $5800. I would just hang on to your coupe man

ya, i'd def. hold on to it at those prices, the difference between this car and others is just how complete this car is, paint, suspension, brakes, etc. etc.. not indicating that will help me move it any faster, but if someone doesn't want to mess around with a hacked up car swap car i think the additional cost would be worth it.

there are lots of places i could have cut corners to save money, but instead went with properly engineered parts. then there are areas that i went way overkill with the idea that i'd eventually put a power adder on and would need the growing room.

i'll probably hang on to it for a while, it is a lot of fun to cruise around in, drive to/from the track, car shows, etc. it'd be hard to find a more well equipped car with every part being essentially brand new.

I was going to PM you asking for a price till I read about the transmission setup, which is GREAT for track but not for cruising, granted anyone can stick a 6 speed in it, but still, more work/cost.

I say hang onto it, very nice car man. Why don't you design a nice single turbo setup for it?

Maybe swap transmissions? Banging gears in that car would be super fun.

Its a nice ride but you wont get what its worth these days. I say throw a car cover on it and get into something else for a while.

Honestly I would say $10k, that car is clean but I have a hard time seeing it sell at that price with the economy the way it is.

ya, thought about putting a t56 in it, hard to justify doing it when the th350 is a better setup putting down good times (plus i've got quite a bit of cash in the trans/converter as it is.

ya, anything less then that wouldn't be worth it. my financial situation doesn't warrant me taking a big loss on it so it'll have to just continue to be my toy for now.

it is a 79 (well, the chassis is at least), first of the foxbody mustangs, there is at least some coolness factor there, err, maybe not. it is nice that it is exempt for emissions testing, and kind of neat that it's 32-33 years old and is theoretically brand new, basically every part sans the chassis has 1k miles on it front to back, and the efi 6.0l just tops it off (at least for me).

LS swaps are getting easier and easier to do also. They had guys on Horsepower TV do a complete LS Swap in 31 mins from pulling a 502 Big Block to installing the LS1 & starting it!

Being complete and the lengthy parts list doesn't matter though, unless you find a buyer that absolutely loves your car specifically. Most guys that want a swap like yours, want to build it to their specific desires.

You won't get out of it what you put into it, I'd say that even at $8k you'll be hard-pressed to find a buyer, especially in today's market. It's certainly worth a lot more to you than to anyone else, so only sell it if you absolutely have to have another project car.

I agree with this. The project factor is still there if the goal is to keep tweaking it to run solid in the sixes.
