It's a tough, tough market right now if you are a seller. I get alot of inquiries on a regular basis, lots of tirekickers, dreamers and ridiculous lowballers out there right now taking advantage of the tough economy.

You just have to be patient and the right buyer who wants it bad enough will pay for it.

It's a nice car with a stock motor and a non-overdrive transmission. Yes it has A/C, but it is not a true street/cruiser machine. With a 4l60e or other overdrive, it would get great mpg and better street appeal.

Price guess...between $9,000 and $11,000. The car is super clean, and still has some things for the buyer to do. Most people seem to like to tinker with a new ride. Yours is perfect for just that. Throw it on e-Bay with some good pics and a set 17"-18" street wheels on it, and it will be gone.

I would KEEP THE FUCKING CAR though.

from past experiences, don't sell it. I sold the Turbo Rail and the 59 Galaxie and should have sold either and have kicked myself ever since.

Or throw it on ebay with an absurd reserve($50k+) and see how high the bidding gets on it - then you'll have a better idea of what people are willing to pay for it. If you're really considering it, it might be worth the posting fees.

I 2nd converting the car to a 4L60E Trans. Two reasons

1 Your 1st gear in a 4L60E is going to drop those 60ft times down to low 1.5s to high 1.4s. I pull low 1.5s in my heavy F-Body with my 4L60

2 Your over all driving expierence is gong to be so much better when cruising down the road & daily driving.

Also I would re paint the car one solid color. Black or Dark Red or even White! Just a solid color. Do those two things & you will have a better faster all around fun car that will bring the money when you want to sell vs what you have now.

Man unless your tired of having the car or just don't have the time for taking it out to the track and having fun with it, I don't see why you would wanna sell it unless someone offered you some serious cash money for it! The thing is clean all around, and if you did part with it, I'd ask atleast 11k for it.

                        you have just given up:mischievous:
It can def. go faster then 7.1, I just haven't had a chance to run it in good weather. The 60's could def come down a couple of tenths as well (car has done a 1.5 60', but had to abort that run, went 7.1 on a 1.78 60)
LS swaps are getting easier and easier to do also. They had guys on Horsepower TV do a complete LS Swap in 31 mins from pulling a 502 Big Block to installing the LS1 & starting it!
Ya, if you've got a pocket book you can buy the swap parts and pretty much bolt in the ls, still takes some fabbing, but it is nice to have properly engineered parts. I get some slack about spending more then I had to, but I didn't want to cut a bunch of corners. Nice thing about this k member is that I can swap just mounts to bolt in sbc, BBC, sbf, bbf.
Being complete and the lengthy parts list doesn't matter though, unless you find a buyer that absolutely loves your car specifically. Most guys that want a swap like yours, want to build it to their specific desires.

You won't get out of it what you put into it, I'd say that even at $8k you'll be hard-pressed to find a buyer, especially in today's market. It's certainly worth a lot more to you than to anyone else, so only sell it if you absolutely have to have another project car.
I know what you are saying, but considering the amount of high end parts combined with the labor already done and the setup already "de-bugged" might be pretty attractive to the right buyer.
I agree with this. The project factor is still there if the goal is to keep tweaking it to run solid in the sixes.
Ya, it'll do a 6 as it sits, a little nitrous or fi would have it going pretty damn fast!
I'll swap you even for my 87 roller. That way I have another toy and you have another project. Everybody is happy!
I appreciate the offer, but my car fund can't start from scratch!

Appreciate the advice. Like I've said a few dozen times, car doesnt have to go, just me being ADD!

I agree to an extent, the 4l60 is such a pita though, I talked with mike about building one and he pretty much said even built as tough as he can they still are on the verge of breaking. Maybe a 4l80 but I'm not sure about tunnel clearance. T56 would be the only swap I'd probably consider and itd be a step in the wrong direction.

That's not a bad idea, I never use eBay for cars, do people really buy off eBay?

Just consider it a fairly expensive dreamsicle you can also drive! I'll throw in a box that you can eat as well.

Def not repainting, paint quality is great, body is perfect, and believe it or not I get a lot of compliments on it. As for the 4l60 they are not great high hp transmissions. Not going to spend thatkind of coin on a flawed design. Marvels consider an 80 if it'd fit, but this 350 has been flawless.

Ya, I'm probably stupid for even considering. It is insanely clean and drives very nice, nobody will probably believe it, but it has less rattles then any fox I've ever been in!

4L80 is going to eat up alot of power. You being a Cam only LS1 with Bolt Ons. A built 4L60 with a Yank PT4000 & I bet you drop down in the 6s on motor all day.

There is alot of guys running 4L60s who are running low 10s! 4L80 is overkill for your combo & your going to go slower in the 1/8 for sure.

You can get a built 4L60 all day with converter for $2000!

i know there are some pretty fast 4l60 cars out there, but considering that mike has built some pretty stout 4l60's and said in no uncertain words that it's not really a transmission thats worth "building", i have to take that into consideration. there has to be a reason that none of the real fast guys stay 4l60 for long, if they want o.d. everyone goes 4l80 or 200r4. i know that o.d. makes for a better cruiser, but i'm about to take the coupe from ft.worth to duncanville with out a second thought.

Drove from ft worth to dville and back today, nice cruise, AC blasting! Made a little video on the way home (stopped through Mexico), just to demonstrate how docile the setup is. Traction was pretty non existent, but still had a little fun. Keep in mind I was filming, steering, and shifting (but wasn't texting so it's all good!)
