I know its a tight fit with a car-seat and a fox-vert with the top up. lol. When we took my granddaughter for rides in the vert, she would be blown away from being over the windshield line. She got a kick out of it. But now that she is five she can ride in the little booster seat.

If he puts his kid in the car. Really no point in it. Even with the wood he does use to make the kit. Is it really going to save that much weight when its said & done

Here's mine, made template using cardboard from flat screen tv box, transfered to aluminum, covered in 1\2 dense poly-foam, and carpet. Doubt I saved any weight, but didn't have back seats anyway, and like being in easy reach of the bottle. Switches control heater on each bottle. Should be a whole lot easier doing something similar in my 98 Gt since the rear seats recess, thinking of doing a single sub in lower panel on one side and the other side opening for a storage compartment. The Roll bar make the rear seats pretty well useless in that car now.

RSDs are a complete waste of time and money. If you do anything wood wise over 1/4 inch you will weight the same. All the weight is in the frame that holds the upper part of the seats. Take it out and velcro the seats to the car.

If you need large pieces of cardboard for a template, try going by Lowes. We got some from them for a mock up at work. Got some funny looks asking for it, but they were happy to get rid of it.
