I plan on running the tfs stage 1 cam with a set of gasket matched ported gt40ps and was wondering what everyone thought about maybe getting some 1.7 rockers. Im ordering some new springs as well for them. Ive read in other forums that gt40ps stop flowing well after .500 lift but since they are ported would running 1.7s be alright? is there a big power increase from the stock 1.6s im running now? Thanks guys

It depends on a few things. If you have an intake restriction then try a 1.7 on the intake. An exhaust restriction then try it on the exhaust side. There is a science to it and it's best done by a camshaft designer. Many people have done the TF Stg1 cam, GT40 head combo. Just do a Google search and see what the best producing combos make.

That cam is for 1.6 ratio rockers. You will not notice any gain worth mentioning as long as your 1.6 are roller rockers and not the stamped steel stockers. As far as the springs go buy some z06 yellow beehives. You will have to get the spring cup area machined and buy new locks and retainers but it's cheap. Takes over 80grams off each valve!
