1989 Camry fuel pump issue

I'm trying to help this 17yo kid with his 1989 camry and for what ever reason the fuel pump doesn't have power.
I've checked the replay and fuses and all are fine.
We dropped the tank and removed the pump and tested it, it works fine.

I've never messed with these cars. Is this a commom problem with them and is there maybe something I'm over looking?

well if the pump works, its not getting power, and the fuses/ relays are good; i would assume wiring. sounds like you need to do a continuity check on the pump wires.
