So, I have crappy air driven impact wrench and need to upgrade to something with a little more powah. Thinking of an electric. Brand, features, etc... Looking for opinions / experiences...
both snapon's are awesome, find a tool man doing a promo or trade in special, usually like 100 buck trade in for your old impact. or you can usually score one on ebay for about 50%
Electric isn't going to cut it if you want more power. There are a few that can hit around 300 foot pounds but battery life is non existent.
Everyone else has either been rebadging or trying to keep up with Ingersoll Rand for years. Their lightweight impact guns are good for 780 ft pounds now in 1/2"
What are you using it for? Lots of things to consider such as speed, noise levels, reliability, weight and obviously torque. Not everyone needs a 10k rpm gun that weighs 2 pounds just like most people have no business with a 780 ft pound gun.
Snapon for electric , bought mine at a pawn shop for 100 bucks and I abuse the shit out of it plus they are rebuildable. Air = nitro cat light weight, quiet, and super powerful.

So just gonna throw this out there. I was tired of plugging in my compressor everytime I needed to take a wheel off. So as a test to see if I liked them I bought a Harbor freight electric that you plug in for 39.99 on sale, and two sets of their deep sockets. Two years and I have beat the hell out of it with no issues. It will destroy my dads Craftsman air impact and he has a huge stand up compressor he paints cars with. Like I said I bought it just to see if I would like one. I love it.
Oh and I used a Makitta 24V cordless on time working on a trailer with those weird ass trailer axles that pull mobiles down the road. I was pretty impressed with that little devil also. It got the job done for damn sure.
