  • 4v valve covers for distributor?

Got to thinking today, I've seen valve covers for 4 valves that accept a distributor, runs off the small cam gear I believe.

Who makes theese? Does anyone make them or is it a do it yourself type job?

If doing a modular swap into a fox, would this be ideal? Swapping the cars ENTIRE wiring harness wouldn't be very fun.

Ive posted this before and got mostly bullshit.

When doing a mod swap you have to change steering collums right? I've heard you have to cut and do some work on the firewall to make that happen.

Overall would it just be smarter, cheaper, easier and faster to just do a 351 h/c/I swap?

Well, I now have some free time to get back to working on stuffing my 2003 Cobra engine into my 1994 GT, as opposed to working ridiculous amounts of OT...

it's all money, the 351 stuff will swap in a lot easier than a mod motor. Even if you do a dist. conversion on the mod you will still need the factory style harness and such to run the rest of the motor, I believe most of the dist. conversion cars are running a stand alone ecm setup like Fast, AEM, and so on.

Yeah I figured it was a standalone.

When doing the wire harness, I would need a PCM and engine harness or the entire harness bumper to bumper? Seems like Ive read both.

Just looking for insight. I'm torn on doing the easy route and running a 351. But a modular fox is something ive always thought would be fun to drive.

Just get an msd box. Better than going with a distributor. Completely self contained solid state ignition setup. And cheaper too, I do believe. With that you could probably wire up the fox wiring harness to govern the fueling if you were so inclined, or use a Sullivan intake with a carb. 800 alone for the intake though...

              No to the carb route..

              Speaker of intakes.

Holy freaking cow at 351w fuel injected intakes.

Anderson is 830$ for the intake and elbow.

The rest are 600-700$ what the shit. It's the same as 302 just wider.. Theyd have more demand if it didnt require to empty your pockets.. Shit

Search old mm&ff articles. They did a mod swap in a fox 4v and did a detailed parts list on every thing it took to put it in from kmember control arms to pcm, brake booster etc.

Aftermarket will milk you dry. Just find a v6 mustang and steal the k with everything else (a arms, tie rods, spindle, etc)

Me and shadow2v think you need a 5.4 2v so you can have your precious torque, lol.

Anderson is gay. Dont buy his shit

No you don't need the entire body harness. Just the engine harness, ECM, and knowledge on how to make a standalone engine harness. You will also have to go either manual brakes or hydroboost. If you use the stock 4.6 kmember, use the 96+ spindles as well.

Good luck wiring it into the ecu.. Unless you swap that over too. Really unneeded if he rocks the msd.

I was talking stock to stock. 5.4 2v makes 50 more ft-lbs and about 80 more hp compared to a 90s truck 351
