  • budget build 00 silverado rcsb 5.3

Ive been googling and found some ok deals..

My truck is stock but i would like to do the following things

posi or limited slip rear end (i already have a set of 3.73 gears)

some sort of stall (Ive heard of using a trail blazer converter but not 100% on the stall diff) torque converter (or if anyone knows of a reasonably priced one that will be for a n/a truck or a really small shot way later down the road)

    The usual cai

a set of longtubes that wont break the bank as well..

and set something up up with a couple of the local board members to make an exhaust and do the tune (will be done as soon as i get all parts)

Sorry not trying to sound like a cheap ass but wanna keep on paying off my medical bills and have a fun little truck too..

if anyone knows of some good online deals please post up! Im working on a beater civic as a daily driver and always wanted to build a peppy truck (nothing crazy stupid but something that can hold its own...

Gear it higher (numerically) especially because you want a cam and stall, and those stock tires are large anyway. Itll be a turd down low if you dont

As you know, have Sam tune it,410s to get the truck rolling,I'm sure at this point you have 3.42s you would never really feel the difference (slightly) and the converter can be bought from transstar for a good price, then order off road ypipe from jegs. Leave the manifolds on.

you will probably want a driveshaft too because the stock ones will fold up pretty quick if you run high gears.

I went with 3.90's and a trutrac, in an 04 sierra swb (with a dual exhaust setup) , and really liked the change.

this months hot rod magazine featured a turbocharged build with ebay parts making 1200hp for 60 runs without breaking. IIRC it only had headstuds, headgasket and a cam. not counting the fuel and turbo stuffs that is

                    I like my 99 but I loved my 03.
My 99 is a turd for some reason.

yea i know a guy that blew out 3 stock d/s on just a tune for that truck....if you are cheap just stay out of the harmonics of the driveshaft vibrations and you should be ok. His would vibrate around 95-100 on stock gearing...so with lower gears it would lower the harmonic into the 60-80 range

Pacesetter of flowtech's for the headers, no cat Y pipe, inline 6 powered trailblazer stall, your choice of catback exhaust, CAI, electric fans from an 05+ or a F-body, corvette servo for the trans and a tune. Once that gets old, get a trailblazer SS intake and go to a 90mm throttle body and stick a TR220 cam with good springs in it. Then there's nitrous lol.

so the blazer stall is actually higher?

smaller engines make less torque and make their power at higher RPM
