I was wondering if anybody knew how to advance the timing on my ecam im running in my 89 5.0.Has anybody tried it before? I had to take my timing cover off to restore the threads on my lower intake where the water pump housing connects to it. So now that its off i was wondering if anybody knew how to advance the timing on the cam and what may be the easiest way of doing it or what tools i may need.

it is ground at a Center line of 110* so your looking to advance it and time it ?? your going to have to degree it with a degree wheel. Take off the valve cover and advance it 2 to 4 degrees id say. its going to be a trial by error thing.
Put at degree wheel on it and rotate the motor with the passenger valve cover off untill you see the lifter lift .050", and read the BTDC degrees. Theoretically you should build better cylinder pressure the closer you get it to TDC, improving low end performance. I think i read somewhere that people are seeing good performance out of the e303 installed 4*advance, so you should be at a 106* centerline when done.1993 Vibrant Red Cobra #1741.
If you want more inches - Stroke it!!!
