  • Coil over spring question.....

I am needing to order some softer coilover springs for my fox.

I'm looking on summit , and they come in different height/lengths. IE; 10 inches, 12 inches, 14 inches , etc

Does anyone know what size spring would go on my car ?

I can check it out myself , but I'm out of town right now and was wanting to get them ordered today in hopes of getting them installed this weekend.

    TIA

How much does the car weigh and how much of that is on the nose? What will the car be used for? I've got 175 lb/in 14" on my '00 but it's a heavy bitch with a lot of weight on the nose.

3200 with driver. I can't remember exactly but I believe it weighed somewhere around 850lbs on each side up front. Car is used for street/track

I've seen a lot of Foxes 60-ft hard with 14" 130 lb/in. Just don't go trying to take corners fast with springs that soft.

It 60's good 1.40. But it's not lifting the front like it should. Everything out back is copesetic. So 14in is the length I need ? That's what i was thinking also , but wanted to be sure.

Well the ones that are on there , I have no idea what the spring rate is. I got them used and the front of the car is stiff as hell. I plan on getting 150# springs , just need to know what height ??????

The longer the better for storing energy and not unloading at maximum droop. It partly depends on what kind of ride height you're going for - it's best to have the spring perch at about the middle of the adjustment range and this is dependent upon stiffness, length, weight, and ride height. If you want it to launch I'd say go with 14". It was a little hard for me to physically get the 14x175s on my car even with the spring perch screwed all the way down but I managed.
