Electrical experts inside....

So I'm in the early stages of my 86' build. I got a roller for dirt cheap that was completely gutted.
I'm in the process of fitting a SN95 dash into it (yes it's a pain)

I stripped the harness out of the new dash and out of the car as well.
The motor will be carb'ed so as far as wiring everything back up....

I have no intentions of having any creature comforts I can roll the windows down if it gets hot. If it's cold out, the motor will make more power and I will forget about frosty fingers.

Fairly stock 302 w/ a C4 and a bottle, power windows, elec fan, elec fuel pump.

Mainly a fun STRIP/street car.

Would you source factory wiring?
Would you get a Painless Harness (or something like)?
Would you go custom since it won't have all that many circuits?

Thoughts and present/past experience is greatly appreciated.

I did the Painless 12 circuit setup in my coupe that had no wiring at all to start with. Makes it a lot easier if/when something stops working or you need to run down a wire.

That's kind of where I'm leaning, just want to get some feed back. I'm trying to do this whole thing as cheap as possible and see how little I can spend to have a relievable car.
Yes I know what will be replied to after that comment.

I'm just saying, I have been able to source quality parts so far for dirt cheap. Been collecting pieces and parts for about a year now.

I have done a lot of wiring with a Painless harness's, there stright forward and simple as you can get.

Went painless with mine when I changed to carb and thought it would be a street/strip car. Easy to make everything work.

So here is the follow up question.

When everyone did theirs, did you strip everything out of the vehicle before putting in the new wiring harness?
Or did you leave most in tact like to the lights and stuff?

Wanting to get as much done ahead of time with out doing double work.

I stripped everything under the dash (harness), and wired into the lights, power windows, horn, wipers etc.
