  • Anyone know how to get ahold of 04Sleeper? Got a wheel/backspace Q!

I'm gonna be ordering some wheels in hopefully not the too distant future, and have a backspacing question.

18x10 rears and 18x9 fronts on a 96 cobra, want the rears to sit just inside fender flush (a 1/2 inch). What B/S will I need to achieve this?

I know 04Sleeper is a wheel rep, so does anyone know him?
    Detailing is an Obsession!!

Probably going to need 3/8" or 1/2" spacers and either extended lug nuts or longer wheel studs.

I sent him a text to check out this thread.

      Thanks for texting him...

These are custom wheels so I can choose whatever size and B/S I want, so I won't have to use spacers, right?

For the fronts you will need a 5.93 backspacing to make it look right. It will look great with either a 265-35-18 or 275-35-18.

For the rears you will need a 5.875 backspacing to achieve 1/2" from the fender. I usually only go 1/4 less on my car and it seems to look better. Then it would be 5.625 backspacing. It's up to you though on how you like it to look.

        What wheels are you buying?

He won't need anything with custom wheels.

For the rears you will need a 6.125" backspacing to achieve 1/2" from the fender. I usually only go 1/4 less on my car and it seems to look better. Then it would be 6.375 backspacing. It's up to you though on how you like it to look.

Your backspacing differs from mine though right? So your car with 6.375 wheels will be more tucked under or more fender flush than the same wheel on my car? The higher the B/S number, the more it's pulled in correct? Just trying to figure everything out before dropping coin on wheels I can't return. Lol.

Right now im leaning towards CCW classics but I'm also really liking TF RS Tens...

Sorry. Had it backwards. 5.875 for 1/2" space between fender and lip of wheel tucked in. 5.625 for 1/4" space between fender lip of wheel tucked in.

Either wheel will look good. I prefer the single large lip of the TF wheel vs the double lip of the CCW but it whatever you like.

Shoot me a PM if you are interested in the TF's. I will get you a price.

I have a 95 vert with full MM suspension (rear coil overs) minus quad shocks. I am wanting to widen a pair of M-1007-R58 Cobra R wheels to 10.5" from their factory 9". Will a 315/35R-17 fit in the rear?

I am looking at these two rear tires.
                Nitto NT05R
                315/35R-17 = 25.71"x12.48"

                Nitto NT555R
                315/35R-17 = 25.79"x12.13"

                Anyone have a similar combo?
Fuck you. We're going to Costco.

So is the front you told me still correct? I didn't know there was that much difference between our cars. Someone on svtp misinformed me then... They told me their wheels with "04sleeper" offset would sit fender flush on mine. But by your numbers they would sit about 3/4" in. This is exactly why I wanted to contact you first before ordering.

                  Thanks for all the help!

Yes. The fronts are the same for both cars. My offset is for the 03-04's. With it the wheel sits in 1/4" from the fender lip. On your car they would sit in by .375" on each side, not .75.
