  • How much for 8.8 bearing replacement?

My 97 F150 needs at least pinion/carrier bearings. Anyone know about how much labor goes for? I don't want to get ripped, but I would like it "right" If I had anything else with 8.8's (all my hot rods are 8"and 9") I might try to learn these. Or if anyone knows where a complete one is, I'll swap it out.

250 to 450 depending on the shop. I would be willing to bet its the same as a full gear swap. I know my guy up at I35 transmission Davey sets them up for 250.00, any axle.

$250-$300 on the labor is about right.

I know, I might as well. Funny, Ford only paid 4.7hrs to do the TSB, all bearings, ring and pinion included. So, $250.00 = $50.00 per hour? If I had room in the garage, I would try it.
