There is good distance from the rail to the stud or where the cable needs to be. I basically need to move the stud 90* counterclockwise on the plate and it should be good to go.

On another note, Lokar makes an all black braided throttle cable that is going to work just nicely. I just need to measure how long I need.

I think you could simply weld an "arm" to what you've got with the stud on it and and call it a day. I bet it'll probably take 20 minutes start to finish!

When I saw that picture I immediately thought of your issue so that's why I posted it, not trying to indicate you should reinvent the wheel but just that he has it placed like I imagine you need yours.

No, I 100% agree, that was the perfect example of what I need. Thanks for finding it. I think you are right about only taking 20 minutes, much easier fix than cutting that spot weld on the shaft business.

You should be able to use any round die. We'd just have to turn a quick holder for it, no biggie. Just make sure it's ROUND, not HEX.

Also, be sure it's a 1/2-28 - there's quite a few thread pitches in that range. Any idea the rockwell scale on that material that we are threading?

I can find out the rockwell.

Finally made it home and got some time to work on the throttle linkage.

I cut the stud off and began.

I picked up a universal Lokar cable kit

Stock Ford in the upper picture and the Lokar in the aluminum. I ended up stipping their kit down and putting the throttle pedal linkage on a plate to mount to the T/B.

Just a mock up for right now.

                      Pardon the black tape.

Should have the sheath trimmed tomorrow and a bracket made to mount it then I can cut out the plate and mount it all up for a test.

Just need to polish the plate and make a bracket for the cable

The pedal moves clean all the way to full open.

I have gone to headers and a dual intake manifold and now am experiencing throttle linkage binds. Is there a modification to move the bell crank away from the block to free up the binding issues? I know there are kit sold but the bell crank is my only issue. I have fitted everything with Heim rod ends.
