the original size (225/50/17) is 25.9 tall
a 235/45 17 is 25.3 tall (-.6)
235/50 17 is 26.3 tall (+.4)
235.55 17 is 27.2 tall (+1.3)
A 255/45 17 is 26 tall, so you'll only gain a tenth of an inch. And if the speedo is calibrated for the 225, according to this program I punched the numbers into, at 60 MPH your speedo will only be .4 MPH slow.

Well, I figured there is some adjustment or part changing to get the wheels lined up. The passenger wheel never rubs only because its sunk into the actual fender by just an inch or two as opposed to the driver side which is flush with the fender. When I hit a decent bump, the driver side tire rubs the inside of the fender where the fender well and fender meet. Sucks!

LOL, Damn u craigslist detectives! I just took it off today after it being on sporatically. I go thru cars quick, guess i bore easily. Ive turned down 3 bikes, 1 low ball offer, 2 stangs, and a lifted z71... If a clean tastefully modded 5.0 (coupe) swung my way, id prolly trade it. OR a 65-66 coupe stang. That was my first car and miss it dearly! I just get irritated and post it up. See what's out there for equal trade. But I have a new game plan that Jim and I want to tackle. Get a 351 in there with a 3.85 crank. Give it some decent low end torque. We'll see!Last edited by Tannerm; 08-25-2011, 10:02 PM.
