Fox T5....rebuild or buy another one

I just bought a 4cyl T5 for $100... I trust the guy when he said it was in good shape... but if it grinds in 3rd? oh nose! it was $100...

if you need a stop-gap to get around for a week or two and are planning on buying a Tremec later, just get a clean used 4 banger tranny

I'd love to do the tremec now but my wallet won't allow me to!

I'll probably look around for a used one and if I don't find something pretty quick I'll pull it and get a quote to fix it up. thanks for the tips

DITTO!!! By the time you repair it for them, they could have just bought a unit from you. Hell I charge $650 with exchange for a stock replacement unit as long as the core is rebuildable. Most used V8 T5's run between $350-$450 and you have no idea what you are getting.

What do you mean a little beefier? Do you want the Z spec style 2.95 gear ratio combo or a G-Force?
