I know the pistons didn't change the output.

If anything they were faster because the pistons in 93 weighed less then the forged of previous years.

Didn't know about the rating system.

        • Now you know. Now a days, line up a 90 and a 93 both stock *in a perfect universe* they should make the same power.

Yeah, but would the 93 rev faster due to lighter internals?

                  Why?

Help me understand. To my understanding an engine with lighter engine internals can spin rpm quicker because of less rotating mass, am I wrong?

Now if you could tell a differance in a 92 or 93, or even of it would effect a race may be questionable. But in THEORY it should. Right?

                  Or am I ass backwards?

Less volume in the cylinders to be filled?

                      Smaller bore?

                      • I don't know squat on 289, I know they share some parts with a 302.

302 has larger pistons, same stroke? Idk

                        • Same bore. We are getting off track sorry. You were going down a road saying that hyper was lighter than forged, or vis versa and how it played to make more power than the other or something along those lines. I'm like a 12 pack (or more) in right now so don't take too much of this to heart. All I'm saying is that those "numbers" being different between years is bullshit, they just changed the way they rated the cars, that's all.

This was a 200k motor with only 115 cranking compression wet.. Haha with a dry 100 shot went 12.4's.. My 89 bone stock gears slicks and 150 only 3 mods went 12.4's at 108...

I had planned on making it out there, idk if I'll run as much as last year but Id like to make a few passes.

I got my car back to running the way it should, need to change the oil and plugs and we will be good to go.
