High idle during heat of the day

I have a 99 GT with very minor mods (exhaust, K&N, Tune). On the drive to work in the morning, no issues. On dirve home during heat ofthe day, the car runs fine for half the drive home, then starts this issue where when I stop the car idles at 1,000-2,000 RPM's and will stay there. Could it be my IAC going bad or something else? If I turn the car off, then start it back up it runs fine for a bit, then starts the same symptom over again, but only during this high heat.

I had the same issue with mine a couple of weeks ago and it ended up being the dipstick wasn't seated properly. It's a longshot, but hey.
