  • 98 cobra does not start

Started fine, drove 7 miles, shut off, did not restart.
    Fuel new and full
cranks all day sometimes will make very slight attempt to start
I can not hear the fuel pump when cycling the key(stock but was replaced a few years ago)
20A fuel pump fuse under hood is good
I can not seen any bad wiring
Inertia switch had not been tripped so I tripped it and reset it.
Green w/yellow wire out of inertia switch is warm
depressed schrader valve on fuel line on passenger side of engine near front while key on. Hardly any fuel output.
What should wires read at the inertia switch?
    Bad fuel pump?
Is there a product that I can connect to the schrader valve and drive the car?

Sounds like you answered your own question to me. If the fuel pump isn't cycling, then it's probably the pump. You might get lucky and have it just be the filter, but I doubt it.

sounds like the pump to me turn the key on and listen at the tank. if you hear nothing start at the pump and check for power all the way back to the ecu. if its the stockpump its probably time for a new one

if you have 12v at the pump, and its not running with a key cycle, it needs a pump. If you want it done and are interested in bartering (or if you just dont want to mess with it), pm me

What should the voltage be in/out of the inertia switch?
If needed, can someone test the CCRM?

12v out of the inertia upon key on.

              6.92V
At the fuel pump electrical connector attached to the body, I have 12V on one pin and 6.92V on one. I can give 12V past the inertia switch and see if the pump turns on.

yea, brown and pink should be 12v. I a 98 just like this a while back, i suspect a locked up pump

I put power/gnd to the plug going directly to the pump. No sound. I left the plug unplugged and still get 6.9V at the inertia switch. I'm going to look at the kick panel relay next.

if you put power directly to it, it needs a pump...pink/brown is power, black is ground. 98 was a variable voltage pump, yes?

IDK. Fuel pump relay behind glovebox has 12 on red and wht/red and 6.87 on both green/yellow terminals.

                        After reading this:

I'm starting to think the CCRM is bad and some sites say the low voltage will take out the pump.
What should the green/yellow voltage be coming out of the CCRM in the passenger fender?

I will have to check on the voltage. I think the pump has been failing for a while which caused your previous lean codes. A/m pumps are notorious for dying.

                            What does A/m mean?
I'm sure the pump is bad. I'm not sure if I have other issues which may have contributed.
Thanks for the help. Tank coming down.

aftermarket, assuming you didnt buy a ford pump. CCRMs have alot of bad rap, and i dont blame you to investigaye the way you are, but FWIW, I personally havent had to change one....
