  • Truck Guru's In Here Please!

What I need is a DRW cab and chassis with a 60" cab to axle (CA) length. I've been trolling craigslist, autotrader, etc and can't find exactly what I'm looking for. I know eventually it will come along, but I'm wondering if any standard pick ups have the CA that I'm looking for (ie. F350 shortbed). I've been searching google for about an hour, but can find anything definitive. It would be nice to know if I could buy a 1-ton truck and remove the bed for my purpose.

If you know the answer, then please let me know...otherwise I'll have to resort to going to a parking lot and crawl under trucks with a tape measure to find my answer!!!

60" CA is a standard chassis cab length... NOT a short bed!!!

do you have a bed that you're trying to fit to a truck?

            just re-read your post...

no, a standard 1 ton won't work. you'll need a chassis cab/cab & chassis truck. check truck trader

I can have up to an 84" CA, but then I'd have to buy a tunnel box to take up the extra space between the bed and cab. I'm looking at mounting a wrecker bed to chassis, hints the background work. Trying to locate the truck first!
