Teflon is awesome, until it's not. Do they still offer the discharge lines with filters in them?

I don't know if Stutter Bob is available.

This sucks. The A/C going out at the worst possible time of the year.

That sucks Chili, hope you get it worked out. I have never had a car with A/C till a few weeks ago so I feel your pain.

It's been out since late last year, so no biggie. The elevated temps this week just gave me a little more motivation. Oh well, I will continue to sweat a bit on my way home in the evenings.

You are a brave soul, I couldn't even make it without A/C in my race car (hangs head in shame!)

Call auto parts exchange in Ft worth. They usually have a rebuilt compressor, dryer and orifice tube for less that $200. We have used them for years and the parts have always been good. 214-920-9200

Cool Air on Grapevine Highway used to do an A/C evaluation for $29.95, and then try to sell you the needed repairs. Once the repairs are declined, they provided a list of the items needing repair.

I used this service a couple times when I had an A/C problem that wasn't obvious, then went home and fixed it myself. It was worth the 30 bucks to me. I don't know if they still offer the service, might be worth a shot.

You are more than welcome to bring it to Mansfield I do free A/C checks at my shop and we can give it a full charge and check pressures or see if the compressor will kick on. Then check for leaks if everything works.

I may take you up on that. Right now it is looking like probably a new compressor, flushing the system, new dryer and try again. But I would like a professional opinion, particularly before throwing more cash at it.

looks like the compressor is coming apart, metal shavings and trash.

BTW-a HUGE thank you to DJ for driving out to our place last night to try and get it going again. We truly appreciate the time you took to come and help us out.

Hopefully, he will follow through with this and get it looked at/fixed this weekend. I get nervous with him driving around in this heat.
