I'm not opposed to using BE if it is easier. I'm just overwhelmed with techno babble on TunerPro RT. Nothing is really labeled or described.
Is there a program that is easy to use? I need something that says "Adjust this for rev limiter" Adjust this for automatic transmission shift points", "Adjust this to make the automatic transmission shift into first when the shifter is moved to first", etc...
I switched over to Binary Editor and everything is sweetness. I swapped cams to an Explorer cam which gave it a real kick in the butt in the low and mid rpms. The cam runs out of juice around 4500 rpms so I used BE to change the shift points on the AODE. Now it shifts at 4800 and plops it right back down on the torque peak in the next gear. The factory 1600 stall converter always caused the motor to bog off the line. Now with the Explorer cam it has much more torque before the converter stalls and will fry the tires. I baselined it at North Star Dragway a couple of weeks ago. I'm going back out on the 20th for the Cruise and will see if it is any faster. It sure feels faster.
I'm still not sure on making it manually shift from 2 to 1. I was able to monkey with the automatic downshift point so I'll probably just autocross in drive and let the tranny downshift itself.
Yeah be is a lot easier to use as an interface than any of the others and very well supported. Clint has even put notes in a lot of the fields to help with adjustments.
