  • Clutch cables?

I have a centerforce dual friction in my car and the stock cable is stretched out of the crimp.

What cable should I go with? Which ones do I need to avoid?

    Thanks!

Avoid all of the adjustable cables. Get a Ford OEM cable. It will last forever, unlike the shitty foreign cables that all the auto parts stores sell. If you need the adjustment then just get a firewall adjuster.

      Steeda cables good?

I was always told the fords were the best. And if that's the case that will be the best choice.

Adjusting it down on the clutch fork doesn't bother me.

I would stay away from all the adjustable cables, period. Ford OEM non adjustable(only one Ford makes) is what I have and will continue to use. I've used every cable on the market over the last 10 years and between the stretching and the other cables not being able to handle the heat from being near the drivers side header, I'll never go back. If you need the adjustability for Ford's OEM cable then just install a firewall adjuster and be done with it. If you don't have an upgraded quadrant you might think about upgrading.

You might get with greenbullitt and see if he can get you one cheaper than that. Otherwise, I guess if that's the market for them right now I wouldn't blame you for wanting to go with the FRPP cable.

Late model has a OEM non adjustable ford cable for 39.99. Link posted above.

It says OEM ford product. But no ford emblem like most other products.

In my opinion, Maximum Motorsports is the best and have what you need for any kind of clutch setup you have...

They have the OEM cables too... at a bit of a price differential of course...

Actually, their "Universal" kit is still a Ford OEM cable and was a great cable setup on the Kaufmann, even when I had header heat problems that used to eat the crappy mass-market adjustable crap...

This. Always use a Ford cable. Dallas Mustang has the best deal on them and it even comes with a new HD clutch fork:

Use this with an Ford Racing aluminum double hook quadrant and an Ford Racing firewall adjuster (best firewall adjuster because it's self-locking) and you will have smooth clutch engagement with no problems. It's also good to upgrade the Throwout bearing retainer to a steel one. The stock aluminum ones get pitted over time and can / will snap clutch cables (I know this from two previous Mustangs I've owned).
