Was driving our Cobra and noticed that 25% of the time I start out in first it starts making a real crazy sound, not like a grind but like a skretching sound, doesn't do it in any other gear and doesn't do it every time. Any ideas?

Throw Out Bearing getting ready to let loose..."Laws that forbid the carrying of arms...disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes...Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man." - Thomas Jefferson, 1776

Usually most pronounced/noticeable in 1st gear."Laws that forbid the carrying of arms...disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes...Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man." - Thomas Jefferson, 1776

Out, never does it right when the clutch is out, I'll let the clutch out and start moving then it starts and if I dont put the clutch back in it'll make the noise for a thousand rpms or so then it'll go away, but like I said, it only does this like 1 out of 4 or 5 times.

The Trans doesn't cosume any fluid. If it's low, then you should have a visible puddle under the car since it sits in the garage. If no puddle, then it shouldn't be a fluid issue."Laws that forbid the carrying of arms...disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes...Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man." - Thomas Jefferson, 1776

Good point, this seemed to start suddenly as well. As a matter of fact it might have started doing this after I bogged it real hard on accident (rolled off from a light in 4th from like 5mph).

If you do take it apart for any reason, make sure the retainer is free of wear rings.
